Hey there! I’m Niki, an avid cardmaker and quilling artist. My favorite techniques include stamping, watercolor, die cut design, and paper sculpture. I love to find new ideas, tech tools, and creative products to share with y’all through my blog and social media.
My first paper obsession started out with quilling. It has been one of my favorite paper art techniques since 2004. Back in Canada, I taught quilling classes at the local Michaels, and I’m a current member of the North American Quilling Guild.
I don’t do much custom quillwork anymore, but the majority of what I used to make were framed wedding invitations and other valuable keepsakes. Nowadays, I keep a small collection of quilled watches and small projects in my quilling paper shop on Etsy, called TealKat Creations.
You’ll also find some of the handmade cards from recent blog posts there, too! My card making started as a scrapbooking hobby but completing full layouts proved to be a challenge (I have the attention span of a goldfish). So, I tried making cards out of paper scraps… and found that techniques and design on a smaller scale helped me expand my creativity in bite sized pieces 🙂
In 2014, I started cardstoq (previously Tealkat’s Blog) to share my projects and ideas so I could hopefully inspire others to find something they love to do and run with it!
I live in sunny San Antonio, Texas with my husband Scott and our two boys, Joseph and Kevin, three cats and a squirrel-chasing boxer.

I use affiliate links where possible. It’s no additional cost to you at all; when you purchase something through the links on my site, the retailer gives me a tiny portion of the sale and that helps me keep the blog going.
I occasionally receive products for review (and I will tell you in the post), but I only review the products that I like and would recommend to others. My opinions are my own.
I don’t do sponsored posts.
I REALLY appreciate you clicking through my links and helping me out – thank you so very much! I gotta keep the craft lamps on somehow, am I right? 😉
