PTI June Blog Hop Challenge

The June Blog Hop Challenge at Papertrey Ink features a lovely piece of artwork by Yellena James:

Since I loved the colors, that is what I used for the inspiration for my card today. Of course, I pulled out one of my new floral stamp sets to create my take on this beautiful underwater garden.

It’s a lot of stamping and masking, but I love how it turned out. Most of the white areas are done with Versamark Ink and white embossing powder. I used some enamel accents to add a few dots for the spaces I didn’t feel safe reheating.

For the background, I used a mini ink blender with some Peacock Feathers Distress ink and blended up from the bottom of the panel. While it was drying, I stamped the ink pad directly on a clear acrylic block and added a little water. Using a paintbrush, I picked up the color and tapped off some droplets over my blended ink. Once that all dried, I went ahead and stamped my flowers using masking paper where necessary.
