Papertrey Ink March Blog Hop ChallengeIt’s blog hop time over at Papertrey Ink! I love playing along with these challenges – they choose the most exciting inspiration photos. This month’s photo comes from marthastewart.com and features a birch wrapped basket with lots of lovely tulips and daffodils.

I chose to use the color palette from the photo for my card today. Using one of the stencils from the Garden Gate Make-It Market Kit from PTI (it’s retired now, but there are lots of beautiful floral sets you can use in place of it), I created two ink blended backgrounds. One with Hero Arts Shadow Ink in Pool, and the other with Versafine Clair in Acorn.

I set aside the brown background and cut out the center oval on the blue one with a Stitched Oval die from Memory Box.

Next, I separated the oval and stamped the flowers using a MISTI, masking after I had the first two completed so I could add more.

The pink flowers are stamped with Delicata Rose Gold and Versafine CLAIR in Glamorous. I love that sparkle!

Then I stamped the sentiment in Acorn and added a few vines from the wisteria image in the stamp set.

I attached the finished oval in place on the brown stenciled background, then trimmed and adhered the blue background with some foam squares. I also dabbed each flower center with Nuvo Crystal Drops in Gloss White.
