I decided to do something a little different for this week’s Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge and kill two birds with one stone – a layout about the kids’ adventures with cake pops from this weekend past 🙂
I had some photos printed that I have meant to scrapbook – last year I swapped over all my scrapbooking to Project Life, and it is SUCH a time saver!
For this project, I used a couple of stamp sets from Paper Smooches to make two cards to go with my pics:
I like using the smaller binders for my scrapbooks; I find it much easier to complete pages. Journalling is very hard for me because I usually don’t have much to say… can you believe that?! Hah!
For the title card, I found a striped card in my handy dandy case I use to store my Project Life stuff and stamped the “recipe for:” in Versafine Onyx Black. I doodled the date and directions, then popped the card into the pocket. When I use foam letters in my scrapbooks, I always stick them on the outside of the protectors, so they don’t make the pages overly lumpy or buckle the cards.
It looks much neater that way, too, and adds a little texture to your pages for people to enjoy as they look through your books 🙂
This next card was fun:
I picked out sentiments from the Slang Gang stamp set to make this cool little subway art style card. It seems like it would need a lot of planning, but surprisingly the sentiments are pretty easy to fit together. You can add a few dots here and there to fill in any gaps. Or – pick out some of those tiny hearts, stars, etc. from your other stamp sets and make use of those!
The main message on the card (in black) is embossed to make it pop up from the colored words. You can do the subway art thing with any of your stamp sets that have a bunch of sentiments.
Thanks for stopping my to see my cake pops layout 🙂
